How we met and the proposal

MOST ANTICIPATED MOMENT

We met at a dinner party in Los Angeles. Angelo proposed in Yosemite national park at our favourite picnic spot we frequent every year. It was very special to me because it is my favourite place.

Just being surrounded by all of our friends and family and enjoying an amazing dinner and an epic dance party together was so beautiful!

We had a week-long event schedule so by the time the wedding day came everyone felt like they all knew each other well and it made the wedding feel so intimate.

Why we chose ANTIPAROS

With Angelo being Greek and us owning a home in Antiparos (a place that means so much to us and brings us so much peace every time we are there) it only made sense to us that Antiparos, Greece would be the destination of our wedding.

We wanted it to feel like a very authentic Mediterranean experience for our guests who were traveling from other countries and give them a taste of Antiparos life.

I personally wanted to incorporate lemons into our decor because I am obsessed with them. Our colour palette was very neutral tones, Green, foliage, Greek herbs, lemon.

We had a traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony and afterwards we exchanged our vows just the two of us down by the sea so we could have a moment to say our custom vows to each other.

Our Wedding looks

I didn't have a dress in mind to be honest when I went to find a dress. The dress sort of found me! It was the first dress I tried on and I loved the silhouette and just thought it was so beautiful. Angelo found his suit in Los Angeles and wanted to wear blue to honor as it only felt right for a wedding in Greece.

FAVOURITE PARTS OF THE DAY

The dinner was something we really wanted to do right for our guests. One of the best things about Greece is the food! We had a giant buffet with the most delicious foods. It was a feast! Menoo by Platis catered our food and they did such a beautiful job. To this day the number one thing people say about our wedding is it was one of the best meals of their life!

Décor and florals

The Twelve events were our wedding planners and they were so fantastic with making our decor dreams a reality. We had a blue hanging tassel backdrop we saw on Pinterest and they made it for us! But other than that we kept all our decor very natural. Beautiful flowers and greens. Herbs and Lemons. We both love nature so much and it was very important that it was the core of our decor for us.

Angelo's aunt created my bouquet for me, she does really beautiful flower arrangements. And the Twelve Events handled all of our other flower arrangements. For the tables we used white flowers mixed in with the garlands draped on the table and had a couple of beautiful arches created as well.

Advice to other couples

Wedding planning can be very stressful so our advice would be to just focus on what matters, celebrating your love with the ones you love and don't get too focused on all of the little details because everything will work out!
