Pack your bags, globetrotting lovers, and get ready to jet-set to the most beautiful volcanic island on the globe, like this insanely pretty Santorini wedding at Venetsanos Winery is chock-full of intrepid views and organic luxe wedding dreams. Hannah & Collin’s Santorini winery microwedding is one of those sophisticated and pretty across every inch affairs that put a smile on our faces each time we get to even glance at a shot; the memories we carry from these ah-mazing summer vows in the Cyclades strike a chord, and if you love a bottle green palette, sprinkled with striking whites and golds, or want to fall in love again through the eyes of these two dreamers, the images below will bring a tear in your eye.

No matter how many times we head to Santorini to capture romantic I do’s, the queen of destination weddings in Greece never ceases to amaze us. If getting wed on Santorini island has been for long under your radar, we’re pretty certain you’ve already ogled some seriously charming Santorini venues, luxuriating clean cave-pools, and boutique hotels whose pasty architecture and oh-so aesthetically pleasing indulgences can make a life-lovers head spin. Such was the case with Hannah & Collin’s storied perch, Venetsanos Winery, a magical Santorini vineyard & distillery cum wedding venue above Athinios. Overlooking the dramatic cliffs of the Caldera between epic views, cobbled-stone accents, meandering paths soaked in oleanders, wooden mansion doors, and cinemascope-colored fenestras, it’s all a portrait backdrop dream.

As most weddings in Santorini usually come with blush and blue palettes, we were thrilled to view what the artistically gifted team of Tie the Knot had prepared for H & C’s nuptials. Gold and white coordinated perfectly with bottle, olive, and granite greens, uniquely embracing the couple’s love story and bringing their vision to life. Maria placed long family-style dinner tables on the terrace to create an organic scene that got all the “oh my” reaction it deserved! So if you, like us, love something old, something new, something green, and something I do, we invite you to Pin away this Santorini wedding steal-worthy inspiration and see why luxe has more to do with vibes rather than chandeliers.

From the

How we met and the proposal

Our Wedding looks

We met in college on Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina, through mutual friends and both of us needed roommates, so we decided to live together with another friend. We became great friends for several years and knew we had something more than friendship long term.

We traveled to the British Virgin Islands for Memorial Day with friends. We had a beautiful home rental that looked over the coast of the island of Tortola. It was the morning before we left and the last day for him to propose. He has been up since 4am in anticipation for me to wake up and pop the question over the sunrise. I walked up the stairs of the terrace to find him standing in front of our infinity pool and gorgeous view with a wedding ring. It was a beautiful day!

I wanted a timeless look that was very simple. Simple braid with an olive branch. Simple makeup for an island feel. White crepe material dress with cow neck in the back and long train from Theia gowns. Saint Laurent white heels. All diamonds and family jewelry were worn. The earrings were a gift from my dad. The diamond necklace was a gift from my mom.

The rehearsal dinner look was more around my original style. I wore a boho style beautiful lace dress from Jens pirate booty. I’m also Native American and asian. Turquoise has a lot of meaning in Native American culture so I knew I wanted to wear some in the wedding festivities. I found this beautiful ring in Santorini and it felt so special to add it to my ensemble for the evening before the wedding.

Collins wanted a spin to a tux look and had a custom made suit through a friend in Charlotte NC. The inside of the jacket had a picture of Santorini! He wore an Omega watch that was given to him from me as a wedding gift. His cufflinks were silver knots to resemble tying the knot!

Why we chose Santorini

We chose Santorini because we always wanted to get married by the water and cliffside.

SPECIAL MOMENTS OF THE WEDDING

Décor and florals

During our father daughter dance we did a dance to a popular pop Korean song called Gangnam Style. In the middle of the song, my step father jumped in for the dance! That was a personalized moment for me and both fathers. Also, my step dad officiated the wedding. That was a special moment because we are very close and I wanted him involved in big way.

We wanted simplicity and elegance with shades of green and white. We wanted to create more focus on the surrounding landscape. We truly relied on our planner, Maria, from Tie the Knot for all decorations regarding the wedding day. We stuck to simple greenery and white flowers. I wanted big white garden roses with long stems for the bouquet. We kept the simplicity within the bridesmaids bouquets with a single steamed white garden rose.

Advice to other couples

MOST ANTICIPATED MOMENT

Finding the right wedding planner was the first and most important step for us. A destination wedding can be easy and difficult all at the same time. It was simple to choose our vendors based on recommendations from our incredible planner. In addition, Instagram gave us a true idea of their quality and service. The difficult part was not being able to physically see the location and design, or meet our vendors. The time difference made it challenging as well. Everything was planned through email, mostly. We went into the wedding week with full trust in our vendors and the day turned out perfect.

The first look. It was a beautiful moment for just the two of us to experience together at our villa. We had olive trees surrounding us and it was so emotional to see each other in that moment!
